Whatchoo know bout going big, boy? I can tell you what our DF5 Factory riders know and that is that there aint no street, park, or jump line that can throw off the 2013 Assault series. Designed and refined through feedback from our riders, the Assaults are burly little low slung rigs designed to trick, flip, stick and hit. Boom Diamondback DF5 Pro Factory Team Rider Kelly McGarry sums it up like this: "The Assault is one of my favorite bikes in the Diamondback line up and is my trusty go to steed for dirt jumps and park riding." The 2nd Assault takes its cues from the (1st) Assault. Sharing the same 6061-T6 Aluminum frame w/Taper head tube, Mission formed top tube and steel reinforced horizontal BMX dropouts, these frames are stout and fully capable of going big. And weighing in at a respectable 4.5 lbs makes this one of the lighter dirt jump frames on the market. Rocking a single speed specific horizontal dropout keeps things clean and simple. 69 head and 72 seat angles combined with significantly compact 15.3" chain stays and a 22 sloping top tube make the Assaults easy to throw around and manual for days. The 2nd Assault comes specd with a Manitou Circus Dirt Jump, 100mm travel fork with a Maxle 20mm thru axle. This keeps the front end stiff and burly. Tubular chromoly cranks provide a solid jumping platform while the Alienation wheel-set provide stout landing gear for touchdown. A Hayes HMX-5 Mechanical Disc rear brake with a V6 Rotor and Diamondback stem, bars, pedals, post and signature Pivotal seat round out the package. Diamondback is a brand that built its reputation on top of the line BMX bikes. 30 years later, were bridging that gap from our high end BMX to our high end mountain bikes. The Assault and Assault 2 are just the rigs to do this.
