Product Description
Tandem riding is great fun for a couple. A Twin-Rider tandem allows two cyclists of different experience and ability to ride together. The tandem allows a handicapped person who couldn't otherwise ride a bicycle to share in the joy of cycling. The tandem provides cyclists with the ability to enjoy the sensation of high-speed cycling. The tandem can allow a parent to enjoy cycling together with a child. The Twin-Rider is a very well built and equipped made in Taiwan tandem. It is relatively light for a tandem at 48 pounds however, due to it's oversize aluminum alloy tubing construction, it is very strong. The Twin-Rider has a minimum stand-over height for the stoker of only about 20" which is a real plus for a novice or shorter rider. The alloy seat posts supplied allow for a 10" range of seat height adjustment in order to accommodate tall riders also. The Twin-Rider has extra sturdy wheels usually found only on very expensive tandems. They are made with double wall alloy 26" rims, large hubs with quick release and 48 stainless steel spokes (bikes usually have 36 spoke wheels). Tires are top quality semi-slick pattern suitable for road and some off road use. With a 24 speed Shimano Acera SIS with 11-34T cassette, Shimano EZ Fire shifters and powerful V-brakes the tandem has great speed and stopping power. Additional features are: alloy mid-rise handlebar for the captain and a taller 3.25" rise for the stoker; comfortable saddles; large soft grips; and adjustable stems. Two water bottle locations are provided. The cranks are 7" alloy with chain wheel covers. Alloy kickstand included. The Twin-Rider's high quality features together with a reasonable cost make it a super value and will allow two people to add a whole new dimension to their enjoyment of cycling. Colors available are a beautiful brilliant blue and brilliant red. This product ships to the Continental U.S. only.
