Low cost option for the venerable Panasonic mid-drive bottom bracket motor system. Running errands, commuting, recreational riding - all things the Street 650 will do easily. With a range of 45 miles and a top motor assisted speed of 20mph (federal regulation) this bike is ready to take on any urban task. It's 26" wheels at 45 mm sized frame make this a great option for the smaller riders. Powered by the industry leading Panasonic mid-drive motor system this bike offers many advantages over less expensive hub motor bikes: 1) Efficiency - the mid-drive motor drives the chain of the bike allowing it to take advantage of the gearing system of the bike. 2) Weight distribution - the mid-drive motor and battery are mounted low and in the center of the bike keeping the weight balanced. It looks like a bike, rides like a bike and feels like a bike. 3) Standard components - other than the centrally mounted motor/battery system, the bike utilizes standard bicycle components. Just try to take a hub motor equipped bike to your local bike store to change a rear flat... They likely won't touch it. With the mid-drive system both front and rear wheels are industry standard equipment. 4) Reliability - the Panasonic system is built to the highest automotive quality standards. With a world-wide failure rate of under a tenth of a percent it's no wonder this is the standard of the industry.
